Teak deck caulking renewal
Quote #T-2047 · v2 · Valid until: 15 February · Prepared by: Murat (operations)
v2 (10 Jan): material line corrected - confirmed as Sikaflex-290i DC · the v1 (08 Jan) record is retained
Why is this work recommended?
The January check found opening and hardening in roughly 40% of the deck seams. Teak that takes on water through open seams passes damp into the plywood beneath. (finding #F-311)
If left undone: Damp works into the substructure; next season the cost can rise to a localised teak replacement (~3-4 times as much).

How was this quote chosen?
Quotes were gathered from 3 workshops; 2 were ruled out for not meeting the Care standard. You are only offered what passes the standard - the burden of negotiation and choosing a craftsman isn't yours, it's ours.
Care work standard and elimination record View
Minimum standard for this job: ≥ 12-month written warranty · seam depth ≥ 6 mm · manufacturer-approved caulking compound · insured work · a quality-control track record on reference jobs.
Ruled out 1 - lowest-priced quote: 6-month warranty, 4 mm seam → risk of reopening within 1-2 seasons; cheap short-term, expensive overall.
Ruled out 2: same scope and warranty, 16% higher price; no technical justification for the difference.
Selected - A.K. Woodworking Workshop: their last 11 teak jobs passed our quality control first time; they have no partnership with GöcekOnline.
Elimination records are kept in the audit file; if you wish, you can review them in detail with your operations manager.
History: #T-1988 Deck vinyl covering - you declined it on 12 Dec · the record is retained
Scope options
Why we recommend this: Because the opening has reached 40%, a partial repair comes back within 1-2 seasons with fresh openings; renewing the whole deck in one go means you don't pay for repeated labour.
Price breakdown - Full renewal
Not recommended: We didn't recommend: a full deck replacement (-6,400 €) - the existing teak is sound for another 8-10 years.
