Is a survey really essential on a used boat?+
A survey costing roughly a thousandth of the boat's price reveals tens of thousands of euros of hidden faults (osmosis, engine fatigue, electrical decay) before you buy. Skip it, and the most expensive lesson goes by the name of "the first season".
Should I trust the report the seller provides?+
Who ordered the report matters. We take no side in the sale, we take no commission from it; our report represents you, the buyer, and you alone.
What does the report cover?+
Hull and deck (including moisture readings), engine and gearbox (compression/figures), the electrical system, equipment and safety gear; a sea trial if requested. Every finding is written with photos, an importance grade and - in a purchase scenario - its negotiation value.
What's the difference between a Second Opinion and a full survey?+
A full survey scans the whole boat; a Second Opinion focuses on one question: "should the batteries be replaced?", "is this engine noise normal?". It's fast, the first one is free, and if you like you can share the report with your captain or the seller.
How do timing and fees work?+
Scope and fee are clear from the start at the appointment; there are no surprise line items. The written report is in your hands within 48 hours of the inspection. If you hand us the maintenance later, the survey findings turn straight into your job plan.
