Boat buying and selling advice: an independent eye, a documented decision

The costliest mistake in buying or selling a boat is not knowing: the buyer buys what they can't see, and the seller, for want of a documented history, sells below value. Care takes no side at this table - we take no commission from the sale; our work is to measure and to document. If you're buying, we produce an independent survey and a negotiation list; if you're selling, we gather your boat's documented history into a Value File. Either way, the report is yours.

How it works

01

Scope & appointment

Are you buying or selling, and what question are you looking to answer - scope and fee are clear from the start.

02

Measurement/compilation

For a purchase, an on-site survey plus a sea trial; for a sale, a compilation of the paperwork and history.

03

Written report

For a purchase, a survey with a negotiation list; for a sale, a Value File - in your hands within 48 hours.

FAQ

Do you take a commission like an estate agent or broker?+

No. We take no side in the buying or selling, and we take no commission from the sale; our only income is the advisory/survey fee. That's why our report represents you alone - the buyer if you're buying, the seller if you're selling.

What should I watch for when buying?+

The things you can't see: osmosis, engine fatigue, electrical decay, an undocumented history. An independent survey reveals these before you buy; a measurement costing roughly a thousandth of the boat's price heads off tens of thousands of euros of surprises.

What use is a Value File when selling?+

A boat with a documented maintenance history sells both faster and closer to its value; the buyer's strongest bargaining chip is a lack of paperwork - a Value File takes that chip away.

I'm buying a foreign-flagged boat - can you help?+

Yes: we carry out the inspection and the report, and guide you through the flag, paperwork and transfer process. We prepare the report in English too.

Do you give a price/value as well?+

We offer a value opinion (in the context of condition and the market), but it doesn't take the place of a formal valuer's appraisal; if one is needed, we point you in the right direction. Our aim is to back your decision with data.
